Physical Intervention
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who wishes to learn how to manage aggression and violent behaviour and
is employed by many organisations in the private, security, healthcare and local government sectors.
Course Content:
In response to the recent employer guidance on physical intervention training in the security sector, Maybo has produced a high quality, legally and medically reviewed, accredited physical intervention course. This course teaches non-pain compliant techniques of restraint and escorting and is approved for all who work in the catering and service sector. The 2 day course consists of the following units:
- Introduction
- Use of Force Guidelines
- Risk Management
- Personal Safety
- Communication Skills
- Holding & Escorting
- Post Incident Procedure
- Resistive Behaviours
Assessment and certification
Learners will have both a written and practical assessment. On completion of the training, you will receive a nationally recognised physical intervention award, accredited through the National College Network (NOCN). It is fully compliant with the SIA and NHS SMS (Security Management Service) occupational standards.
